About Paul...

"When Paul competed in his first multisport event in 2003, the training had just been a credible way of taking a break from his final year study at university. His passion for sport had been present throughout school but generally alternated between cricket and sailing rather then tack and field. Swimming was always a keen favourite but purely on a leisurely basis with no 5:30am starts in sight!! Following University, Paul undertook a 10-year sea going career as Captain and Crew of private Superyachts and travelled all over the world. Naturally this wasn’t the best environment to train so fitness became a casual interest and relaxation from work – a continuing benefit. During work holidays in 2012, Paul tried his hand at a local triathlon event in the New Forest and the interest in this sport was born. Since 2012, each season Paul has shown increased commitment to the sport resulting in continuously improving results and qualification to race for the GB Age Group Team at the 2014 and 2015 World Championships. Paul is currently training for his Level 2 BTF Coaching qualification and is soon to be joining the team at Southampton Triathlon Club."

What is your biggest sporting achievement?

"Outside of Triathlon, it has to be taking 3 wickets in 4 balls during a school cricket match. Still disappointed he didn’t quite get the hat trick!"

What is your favourite food?

"Malteasers."

What song gets you in the mood for a race?

"Tends to be whatever is on the radio and don’t generally listen to music while I train. Much prefer hearing whats going on around me."

What is your favourite GlycoSource Flavour?

"Lets be honest, they are all excellent but the Very Berry has to take it. ."

What are your future goals?

"Sub 2hr Olympic Distance, Sub 35min 10k & Sub 10hr Iron Man."
