About Laura...

"I'm 26 years old and started triathlon in 2013 having played football for over 10 years! I have just started a MSc in Nursing so I now have my own fourth discipline to consider! My weakness in triathlon is swimming and my strength is probably running, and I joined an athletics club in the summer this year. I am type 1 diabetic and find Glycosourse compliments my endurance training and blood sugars (and keeps me going) better than any other product! I love my training and can't think of any other sport I'd rather do!"

What is your biggest sporting achievement?

"I completed my first ever Ironman in 2014 (Challenge Weymouth) coming 2nd in my age group, which then qualified me for the 2015 ETU Middle Distance European Championships in Rimini. This was my first ever middle distance (70.3) race and I came 2nd in my age group, and the part I’m most proud of is getting to wear the GB kit!"

What is your favourite food?

"SO many! I love my food - but avocado, almonds and peanut butter are probably up the top (not mixed - but I could try it!). I'm also a traditional cyclist - obsessed with coffee/cake stops."

What song gets you in the mood for a race?

"Generally anything dancey, mash up mixes or maybe a bit of Skrillex!"

What is your favourite GlycoSource Flavour?

"Very Berry in the winter, Caribbean crush in the summer!"

What are your future goals?

"I've decided to take up my PQ place for Challenge Walchsee-Kaiserwinkl in September 2016 - I just want to improve on my time but a podium finish would be great too. I'd like to win a few races this year (running and triathlon; rather than my favourite 2nd position!) and just beat PBs...another Ironman is definitely on the cards after the MSc!"
