About James...

"I am an endurance athlete going beyond Ironman in an attempt to test my body and mind to its limits and then a little bit more. I started racing triathlon in 2006 competing in sprint races where I would often finish in the top 1/4 of the field. I then just gradually increased the distance of the Triathlon doing my first Ironman at Ironman UK in 2008 finishing in 12:25. A few Marathons, half Ironman and Ironman races later and in 2014 PB at The Outlaw Iron distance race in 10:57, and in the same year at Ironman UK 70.3 Wimbleball in 5:36. I have more recently completed a number of long endurance ultra events in swimming, cycling and running. Going beyond long!"

What is your biggest sporting achievement?

"This September I took part in the Brutal Events Triple Iron Distance Triathlon. A continuous race of 7.2 miles swim, 348 mile bike and a 78 mile run with the first part of the run going up to the summit of Snowdon. 13 people took to the start line, only 9 finished and I completed the course in 58 hours 21 minutes and ran myself into 2nd place."

What is your favourite food?

"As you can imagine, the build up to the Triple Iron has taken many hours and miles of training. So I guess I just like food and lots of it!"

What song gets you in the mood for a race?

"Nick Mulvey - First Mind Album - Fever to the form."

What is your favourite GlycoSource Flavour?

"Its got to be Carribean Crush."

What are your future goals?

"Its hard to know really. Where do I go from the Triple Ironman? I will let the future find me!"
